Assessment programs can be incorporated into PowerPoint® by using the LiveWeb add-on developed by Shyam Pillia. By saving the quizzes/exams on a web (html) page, LiveWeb can then bring that page into a PowerPoint® presentation whether its found on the internet in real time, or stored on your computer harddrive. |

The Hot Potatoes suite includes six applications, enabling you to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill exercises for the World Wide Web. Hot Potatoes is not freeware, but it is free of charge for those working for publicly-funded non-profit-making educational institutions, who make their pages available on the web. Other users must pay for a licence. Hot Potatoes is another example of existing assessment software that can be incorporated into PowerPoint® presentations via the add-on LiveWeb. Not only can you create traditional assessments, but you also have the opprtunity to include crosswords and jumble puzzles. If you want to keep the "Free" feature for educators intact, you have to be able to do without the Masher program. Masher allows you to combine the various exercises together to form a cohesive unit. In reality, this is something that you can do on your own without having to use Masher. For further information in that area, feel free to email me. |
